AC storage services are for the things you can’t afford to get back damaged. Wooden furniture, leather sofas, electronics, artwork and paperwork all react badly to Dubai’s heat and humidity, and a few months in the wrong place can be enough to show it. This page explains what cooled storage protects, what it costs, and when you don’t need it.
Our AC storage services start at AED 15 per square foot per month.
What AC Storage Services Actually Include
AC storage means warehouse space that is air-conditioned, so the temperature and humidity stay far steadier than they are outside. Your items stay indoors in a facility with CCTV and controlled access. You can bring your things yourself, or we can collect them from your home or office.
AC Storage Services Pricing
The rate is AED 15 per square foot per month, starting. Here is what it looks like by size, and what each size roughly holds.
| Space | AC per month | Roughly holds |
|---|---|---|
| 25 sq ft | AED 375 | Boxes, a few small pieces, electronics, documents |
| 50 sq ft | AED 750 | A studio’s furniture or one bedroom’s contents |
| 100 sq ft | AED 1,500 | About a one-bedroom home |
| 150 sq ft | AED 2,250 | About a two-bedroom home |
| 200 sq ft | AED 3,000 | About a three-bedroom home |
These are starting prices, and what fits depends on your furniture. VAT is added where it applies, and your final price depends on the size, how long you need the space and whether you want collection.
Small private units in Dubai often cost between AED 9 and 19 per square foot, so our AC storage services sit well inside that range. Compared with our non-AC rate of AED 12, cooling adds AED 3 per square foot. On 100 sq ft, that is AED 300 a month for much steadier conditions.
6 Hidden Risks of Skipping AC Storage Services
Dubai summers mix two problems. Heat dries and stiffens materials, and humidity feeds mould and rust. That’s why we recommend AC storage services for the six things below.
1. Solid wood warps and cracks
Wood swells in damp air and shrinks as it dries. Over a few months, joints loosen, drawers stick and veneer lifts at the edges. Dining tables, wardrobes and cabinets are the usual victims.
2. Leather stiffens or grows mould
In dry heat, leather goes stiff and can crack. In humid air, it can grow a pale mould bloom. Leather sofas and chairs are expensive to recondition, and cheaper to protect.

3. Electronics corrode and batteries age
Heat shortens battery life. Moisture corrodes contacts and connectors. TVs, laptops, printers, routers and appliances all suffer, and the damage often only shows when you plug them in months later.

4. Mattresses and upholstery turn musty
Fabric holds moisture. In an uncooled space, mattresses and upholstered sofas pick up smells and can develop mildew. That is very hard to fix once it sets in.
5. Artwork, photos and instruments drift
Photos can stick together, frames and canvases can warp, and instruments can go out of tune. A piano is a good example, and our guide to moving a piano in Dubai explains why heat is hard on one.
6. Documents and books go brittle or damp
Paper turns brittle in dry heat and swells or moulds in humid air. If you’re storing contracts, archives or a book collection, steady conditions matter.

Not everything needs this. Tools, tiles and sturdy plastic items are fine in non-AC storage. If you’re not sure, ask us before you pay for either.
Who Uses AC Storage Services
- Families between homes, when a new villa isn’t ready or a lease ends before the next one starts.
- Renovations, where clearing a room properly gets better results than working around furniture.
- People leaving Dubai for a while, with a job abroad and plans to come back.
- Businesses, storing electronics, archives or office furniture between moves.
- Collectors, with art, antiques or instruments they won’t risk in heat.
If you’re clearing a home for good, our guide to what to do with furniture when leaving Dubai helps you decide what to keep.
How to Prepare Your Items for AC Storage Services
A few small habits protect your things even in cooled space.
- Clean everything and make sure it is completely dry before it goes in.
- Cover wood and leather with breathable cotton sheets or blankets. Wrapping them tightly in plastic can trap moisture, a point we also make in our post on summer moving in Dubai.
- Keep electronics in their original boxes with silica gel packs.
- Take out liquids, aerosols and anything flammable, because they can’t be stored.
- Photograph your items and keep a simple list of what is inside.
Many guides suggest keeping relative humidity around 40 to 60 percent for wood and similar items, which is the kind of steady range cooled space helps with.
AC or Non-AC? A Simple Way to Decide
Ask one question: would this item be unhappy in a hot, humid room? If yes, choose AC storage services. If it would sit happily in a garage, our non-AC storage services cost less.
You can also split the load. Put the sensitive pieces in a small AC unit and the sturdy things in non-AC. That is often cheaper than putting everything in AC. Our main storage services page shows both options side by side.
